Welcome to the Everett, MA City Clerk's Vital Statistics online ordering system. Requests will be processed Monday and Thursday: 8:00 AM - 7:30 PM and Tuesday and Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  The Everett City Clerk's Office processes requests the day they are submitted, excluding weekends and holidays, once all information is available.

 

Vital Records have been registered in Massachusetts since 1635.  Statewide collection began in 1841.  Everett has records for events that occurred from 1870 to the present day

Please note the following facts about the records maintained by the City Clerk's Office.  Certain records are restricted from public access.  Identification may be required for processing some orders.  

The City Clerk's Office only issues certified copies of records, regardless of intended use.

Access Policy


Access to restricted birth and marriage records is limited by §2A, Chapter 46, Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) For those persons with access to restricted records, proof of identity (a photo ID) is necessary, and in some cases, additional documentation is also necessary. Access to persons other than those listed below requires a court order.

 

If the vital record you are requesting is impounded, the Everett City Clerk's Office will contact you.  You will be required to provide the proper documentation in person to receive the record.

 

Out-of-Wedlock Births
Access to non-marital (out-of-wedlock) births is limited by §2A, Chapter 46, M.G.L. to the following:

- Subjects of the record (child)
- Parents listed on the record
- Father not listed on the record with documentary proof that he is the father (such as a paternity adjudication, stipulation or properly completed Voluntary Acknowledgment of Parentage)
- Legal guardian of the child
- Legal representative of the child

 

Marriages of Persons Born Out-of-Wedlock
Access to marriage certificates when the bride or groom was born out-of-wedlock is limited by §2A, Chapter 46, M.G.L. to the following:

- Bride or groom
- Legal representative of the bride or groom
- Parent or guardian of the bride or groom

Certified Birth Certificate $10.00 ea
Certified Death Certificate $10.00 ea
Certified Marriage Certificate $10.00 ea

* An additional Non-Refundable $5 Service and Credit Card Processing Fee will be applied to all online orders 

* If you are applying in person, paying with cash or check, the payment must be made in the Collector's Office in Room 13.

Standard Shipping is through the USPS.  Please allow 5-7 Business days for your order to be processed and the document delivered.  

 

You will be asked to select the method of receiving the certificates during the application. You will be notified by us once we have processed your application and the certificates are out for mail or ready for pickup.

 

If the vital record you are requesting is impounded, the Everett City Clerk's Office will contact you.  You will be required to provide the proper documentation in person to receive the record. if you have already paid for shipping costs, it will be refunded to you.
